The only people disappointed are the people who don’t understand knuckleballers, don’t know history, and eagerly buy into hype.

Pagan is the same thing. There is no reason to think this year would be just like last year rather than every other year for him. He’s a 4th OF.

What I am saying is essentially to be patient, though from the sounds of it, you can’t do. Alderson was dealt a crappy hand and it’s going to take a few years of mediocre baseball to fix it. He is not dumb enough to throw money at a top free agent this winter (other than Jose Reyes I hope), to play with a bunch of AAA players. It’s not rocket science my friend. Just commen sense. He will build the team, but it will not be over night. I for one am grateful that he won’t. Also, I for one stopped going to these legalized robberies known as MLB games. I for one am not busting my hump to pay $20-25 to park, $8 for beer, etc. TV will do just fine. I am one of those fans who took a stance against ripping off the fans.

WTF? Are you serious? I love my Mets, but enough already with the wildcard crap. They would have to leap frog not one, not two, but three teams to get there. It was not going to happen. If they’re was only one team in front of them, then yes. All of this while hovering around .500. I don’t know about everyone else but I’m very satisfied that the Mets showed some guts this year and exceded my (and most others) expectations this year. No one expected to see a .500 or better team. We were supposed to be horrible. Yes, I am settling for mediocre. When you’ve traded Beltran, have no Johan, and are essentially fielding a AAA team evry night…I’ll take where they are and hope that in Alderson’s hands that the future is bright. about yesterday’s game i’ve noticed something, dickey has 11 losses and close to a 4
00 ERA, NOBODY is talking about him as being a big time failure this year, and the fact that we’re stcuk with him one more year, reason is he’s a pro and is a great clubhouse guy, imo, more players should be held accountable by the way they play, not because they’re likable or not
bobby parnell, YOU SUCK.. angel pagan, has 8 errors, 8!!! as a CF, that is almost unheard of!! what happened to him??
all i can say is, go get’em today boys.. but wow, this team can play as good as it can one day, and as bad as s***… guess that’s what’s being a 500 team is all about..

Honestly, it is truly amazing that this team plays .500 ball. A truly ragtag army.

Bumpen is as bad as it can be. Parnell is reaching Heilmanesque stature quickly.

Usually, like Niese and Gee, but starting to think all five are completely dispensable.

My God, it seems that only Carrasco, Acosta, and Izzy have been reasonably fair of late.

At this point, I just cringe when I think of us having to play NL teams with + .500 records, let alone a Philly or Atlanta again.

The defensive shoddiness is almost understandable given the unorthodox and unexpected combinations of position playing… so difficult for these guys to generate a rhythm of routine, etc.

Still, they never stop battling; I do like that.

Not Tejada who ignored Turner’s slide signal and missing a tag on a player who almost ran him down.
Not Turner who left more than his fair share on base in his at bats.
Not Parnell who blew two plays on one hit ball.
Not Beato who pitched on poor inning in his two innings of work.

Safely said, there was enough finger pointing to go around on just about this entire lineup that participated in the loss. From
- the errors
- to the sloppy play and mental mistakes
- to the inability to get hits with men on base
- to only scoring 5 runs on 15 hits
- to poor pitching
- to not sliding coming into home

I could go on but anyone who watched gets the picture.

I just wonder what comes first:
consecutive wins
or
consecutive games played where a player doesn’t come out for an injury.

At the rate we’re going, I’m thinking we’ll get more consecutive wins first.
