I think his free agency value has been cut due to his durability problems. Too many trips to the DL. You always want a guy like this on your team but do you want a 162 game player (pluse playoffs) or a 125 game player. With Reyes you get a 125 game or less guy. If you want to pay 100 mil plus for that he’ll have a lot of teams after him. This is a real serious flaw for Jose Reyes. Real serious!

You know what really worries me now that this abysmal team (how about that word from a Met fan and PS 105 graduate-did I get the spelling right?) is that our fan base will abandon this team, attendance will be non existent and the team will suffer more severe financial losses. As my fellow Met fans agree, the Wilpons need to go NOW and Einhorn step in. He appears to love the team and may be the only savior the team really has, The Yankees , soon, if not now will be looked upon as the only “legitimate” MLB team in New York. I think we are very close to that “stigma” NOW and once it is cemented into the city’s psyche it is over for this team in New York and they might look for a relocation or contraction. Think I/m n uts , I don’t think so.

that person who talks about jj hardy often kills reyes for having his best career season when he’s a free agent, saying he’s doing all this to get paid, yet i wonder, isn’t this turning out to be jj hardy best career season? he’s on pace to 29 hr’s and 85 rbi’s, making it his best season up to date, yet, you don’t hear anything about jj being a free agent this season and looking to get paid just like jose, is comments like this that makes me wonder if the person who imo is an idiot either hates jose reyes and the mets or is one of those fans that martino talked about in his article. is a shame really, that man gushes about the atlanta braves entire org, jimmy rollins, the oakland A’s of the 2000′s and does nothing but s*** on mets players and JOSE REYES.. is a shame he’s even allowed here let alone write articles in this blog.

by the way, for those who might wonder about the jj hardy comment here it is:

well ,another game another loss, is funny because without reyes as some envision this team looks lull, no energy, just a total misery to watch, yet ppl here sound like everything will be fine in the future, yet i ask what future?? what if something (god forbid) goes wrong and our future “studS” don’t pan out as planned, or have injuries that backtrack their careers? i mean, with no real good baseball players in the roster as of today is really difficuly to say we’ll be fine in the future, or we have brighter minor league players.. a lot of these fools who drink the money ball kool aid are already conceiding 2012 and 2013, making up excuses like “no good free agents to sign and no chips to trade”, well, if sandy is such a genious wouldn’t he figure out a way to make this team competitive?? as the days keep passing by his players acquired this past offseason are making him look WORST & WORST by the day, making the worst offseason by a met GM looking more of a lock, and 2012 will not look any better, the financial issues with the owners, even the confident of some of these players is looking shaky and vulnerable, players we like to succeed are imo not that good or just feeling the pressure too much, that is not a good sign for the future, w/o reyes this team looks dead, the fan base is quickly tuning out and some IDIOT here wants jj hardy to be the SS of the new york mets if reyes ask for more than 14 million a year because he read about how an agency will tell reyes value to the team, well, take a look at what’s going on in the field, that along should tell you his value, sometimes is more than what you do offensively or defensively, is what you bring to the clubhouse, how others look at you, how the team reacts to your mere presence, times are rough now and we’ll see what happens in 2014, i’d say what will happen in 2012 because there is not guarantee wheeler, nimmo, harvey, familia, vaughn and even capt kirk will pan out to be superstars for the mets, and in all sandy can always walk out and say “i’m done, time to be with the family” while us mets fans will be left in shambles suffering to what could be the worst stretch of mets baseball since the first years of existence

The Wilpons need to be ran out of town ! They are holding all Met fans hostage ! They are an embarrasment to baseball and will go down as the worse era of Mets history ! Bud can go with them. I have been a fan of this game since I was a tot watching the Brooklyn Dodgers on a 9 inch black and white TV , listening on the radio or as a real treat sitting with my older brother and Dad in the bleachers at Ebbetts Field. Now you know I am going back a looooooooong time and I must confess I have never seen anything like this (oh sure there were the ’62 Mets but that was a new team and they were entertaining). Watching these two games just leaves one speechless. They would do all of us a favor by calling Bud Selig and MLB and just walk away for the rest of the year. To watch these BUMS is not fun, not entertaining, and to tell you the truth if it was anything but sports they would all be arrested for perpetrating a fraud on the public. This is really beyond sad and I’ll see you all in 2012. I have other pursuits in my life that provides one with pleasure. I suspect ’12 will be the sames but I’ll quit them at the end of April and won’t drag the misery on into Septemeber. What I don’t understand is how they can collect their paychecks, I certainly have higher standards than these guys. Pretty depressing, excuse me now as I have to turn my attention to other pursuits. Bye.
