Pete, you’re right. Based on his 364 AB, he K’s 30% of the time. Right now exactly half of his 78 H are for extra bases. He’s apparently not a plodder on the basepaths, with 8 SB in 13 tries.

A few notes: 2011 2nd round pick Cory Mazzoni, was just called up to St Lucie of the Florida State League, high A! That is a significant promotion. It looks like we have a fast mover on our hands! To replace the hard throwing Mazzoni, the Cyclones have called up 2010 12th round draft pick, Bret Mitchell from Kingsport. Mitchell was 5-1 with an ERA of 2.95 in 7 GS. In 40 IP he had given up 24 hits, and 12 walks while striking out 38, the Appalachian League was hitting .175 against him, and he has a WHIP of 0.91.

I would feel much better about Brahiam’s chances if only he made contact more often. He’s hitting .214, with an OBP of .286, and in 364 AB’s this year, he’s whiffed 109 times already.

Brahiam Maldonado is really coming on for Binghamton. He’s been a sleeper of sorts, and next month he turns over 26 years on the calendar. Last year he played at St. Lucie and in Binghamton. Sometimes the late bloomers are the sweetest.

Martinez seems like a AAAA player to me. No matter how well he hits in AAA, it never translates to the major leagues.

FMart has been DH’ing due to his bad knee, or knees. They probably don’t think he can play the OF at this time.

It looks like Reese Havens has finally got he game back after all his injuries. Time will tell, but the kid right now is doing great. He is also showing his old power. In his last ten games, Havens is 12 for 32, giving him a recent .375 BA.

Why didnt they promote Fmart instead of Nick Evans today? I seriously dont get this front office fascination with Nick Evans this season, it’s the third time they’ve called him up and he’s terrible!
