As somebody who worked in real minor league baseball for 5+ years the best advice I can give you is if you want to still enjoy the sport, and life…get out while you can

They have gimmicks and promotions at every level. If HoJo can suit up for a game or two next to his son, mor power to him.

I would not go so far as to say signing HoJo for 2 games to play with his son as lame.

I am sure MLB has also done something similar to this in their history as well.
