According to Webster's, Bay is synonymous with Bum--er, 2011 issue.

Seriously, there's not a whole lot of the 2011 Mets that need take the field in orange-n-blue come 2012.

As wonderful as Reyes has been, does anyone seriously think he will be less injury-prone as he ages?! I doubt we will see him in 2012. I was so elated when he came back from the DL--our shoe-in for the Hall. Now...

I've always loved DWright, and I am not as harsh as you, my man, Alex, but I can see trading him. Bet he would enjoy playing for Nats or Os--close to home.

I would like to see Mets retain (in no particular order) Gee, Niese, Byrdak, Duda, Turner, Murphy, Acosta--possibly--, Beato (he will get better), Dickey, and Tejada (I think he is going to be a very good MLBer).

Finally, I like Pagan, but I don't think he is a first-rate starter by any means. He never will be.

Others?

Gee is really coming into his own. And it's as a pitcher, not as a thrower. He's getting good selection, good location. It's nice to know he'll be filling a slot (hopefully effectively and certainly inexpensively) for next year.

sean kenny:

you missed out how jason bay called the team's attitude "lull"

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/mets/2011/08/17/2011-08-17_david_wright_homers_dillon_gee_gets_11th_win_vs_padres_but_jason_bay_says_dugout.html

first, you got eli saying he's in TOM BRADY'S class, NOW you got jason bay commenting about the state of the team?? maybe, just maybe there is something in the NY air that makes these 2 actually made those comments, i was actually shocked, SHOCKED i tell you when i woke up this morning and read that, is jason bay serious?? a guy who was here to produce and hit HR, and has failed MISERABLY is commenting on the team's energy or feeling of the dugout? had he been doing what he was brought up here maybe EVERYONE around him wouldn't feel so "lull" because the team wouldn't be so f*ing far out in the standing, only reyes and beltran and murphy produced offensively this year and all 3 are either gone or hurt, and now duda for a few weeks has produced, besides those NOBODY has done anything offensively this year..
sean kenny, where was the hoopla about wright not showing up the last 10 games?? all of the sudden he has 1 good game and is all forgiven?? i guess i can't complain since all i asked for him was to carry the mets for 1 game, he did it, so maybe he'll carry us again in august 25th.. ugh..
