I forgot to mention the catching situation for the future…obviously since Mike Piazza left, there hasn’t been much stability at the position, and it cannot be understated how important that is to a pitching staff.
Obvioisly ronnie paulino isn’t the long-term answer, so the team needs to really evaluate and see what they have in Josh thole. Hes taken a step backward this season, so can he be or better yet should he be the everyday catcher in 2012 or will they need to look elsewhere? It’s an important question that needs to be answered.

They should have brought takahashi back.He was great as a spot starter and leftie out of the pen last year.He has left a gaping hole.

I’m pretty sure he’ll be back for 2012 but they are being mighty confusing about the whole situation, right?

A good bullpen… it feels like it’s been so long since we’ve had a trustworthy bullpen – and a good catcher to help.

B/c Murph can hit, you find a position for him. His fielding is improving.

I wish I understood what the heck Davis’ injury is all about. I even wonder if he returns in 2012.

The way talk of his ankle injury has turned out, you’d think the ankle is slated for amputation.

For me just about everything boils down to the BPen. A strong bp would have preserved eight or nine more wins for us this season, which means our record would be 63-45 rather than 55-53, and that means we’d be nearly neck-n-neck with the Phils. Of course, it also means we would have beaten them more than we have, so we’d probably be in first!

Ah, for a good bullpen!!

I am already enjoying the ride with this group. However, Parnell, Murph, and Bay have really made me tighten my seatbelt LOL.

I agree.Parnell and Bay are making it necessary to wear seat belts to enjoy the ride.If Bay didn’t turn into a scared old lady 3 feet from home plate since he took 66 mill, even with the injuries we would probably be 3-4 games closer in the wild card.He has reached ollie perez and luis castillo territory for me.Time to play hairston in left field and wave the white flag on Bay.Hairston will strike out a ton, but at least when he makes contact, the ball goes out.The last 2 games in DC shows how important it to have a guy who can knock in runs with one swing of the bat
