Last season at this point they were 30-16 at home, 19-27 on the road. This year their road record is 27-23. Go figure. If they had played as well at home to this point as they were last year they would be 2 games out of 1st place, ahead of Atlanta, just behind Philadelphia. Francisco Rodriguez would not have already been traded (I don’t think anyway) and we wouldn’t be hearing Beltran or Reyes trade rumors either. I’d really like to know what’s going on with this team at home. On the road, they’ve got the most road wins in the division and only SF has as many road wins in the NL, although they’ve lost 2 more on the road as well. If they could’ve managed even 7 more wins at home to this point we’d be in good shape for a playoff spot. Crying over spilled milk I suppose………..

Your exactly right on the Reyes deal. They’ll risk losing out on him to sign him. Beltran, i think if the Mets are out of it, they’ll get what they can get, kindof like the K-Rod trade. They kindof got what they could in that.

Beltran and a couple of pen arms is not exactly a fire sale (beltranis big, but has been almost a foregone conclusion since the year started).

Losing Ike for 4.5 was a bigger blow anyway than losing Beltran for 2 months would be.

but, even without Beltran, they can still make a miracle run at the WC. Not quite as easy, but still doable.

and I say that because even with Beltran, they are going to need huge finishes by a bunch of other guys. So if they get them anyway, and CBs replacement can hold his (their) own, then the team has a shot at mircale mets v 2.0

I don’t believe Reyes will be dealt mid season.
I more than expect Beltran to be dealt but only if Alderson gets a decent return, from what I’m reading.
I could see a couple of BP arms going, possibly one starter as well.

Wright isn’t going anywhere, Ike is on the DL.
Not sure what else we have anyone would be interested in – unless a player was included in a package deal.
