I am sad to see Carlos leave but I am very happy with what we got for him. I can’t wait to see Matt Harvey at number one and Zach Wheeler at number two in our rotation. The future now look very bright for our now dull rotation. Also, I really hope the Giants win it all this year. I will be rooting for them in the Playoffs. Beltran will have a great postseason, I can feel it.

This day has not been easy that’s for sure. I have more graphics that I previously made for him that I haven’t posted. I tried to prepare myself for the trade, knowing it was inevitable and already written. That didn’t seem to matter, because when I got the news via text and ran online to check twitter – I was in instant tears. I think I’m still on the edge but I know I have to move on, we all do, and so does he. It couldn’t have been easy for him either. I will always wish him the best in all that he does.

How about one last BELTRAN BABYYYY! Love ya man!

Thank you for writing this piece, Kelly. I’m sure it must have been very difficult for you as my recent pieces have been for me.

We can always hold out hope that maybe the Mets can re-sign him over the off-season, but if they don’t, we’ll always have great memories of the greatest centerfielder in Mets history.

I’m so sorry that the Mets traded away a great player and your favorite as well. At least the bright side is that he leaves the Mets on a high note and that he was traded for one of the best pitching prospects in the minors. As far as game 7 in 2006 goes, It was Heilman and Willie Randolphs fault. Heilman serving up that meatball to Yadier Molina and Willie not bunting the tying runs over into scoring position when the Mets got the first 2 runners on in the bottom of the inning. He sent up an injured Cliff Floyd who struck out.
