Mets/Brewers Trade: Who’s On The List?
Today I wrote a post over at StLucieToFlushing.com about a few Brewers prospects that may be on the list. The Mets traded Francisco Rodriguez to the Brewers for a sheet of paper. This paper lists around 5 prospects of which the Mets will choose 2 from. Between now and sometime in September the team will scout each player and then determine who they want.
Sandy Alderson will be holding a press conference at 3:30 PM on SNY. He will announce the Francisco Rodriguez trade in the presser. I’m not banking on him naming the 5 prospects during the press conference, however that would definitely be awesome. If I was a reporter that would be my one question.
Anyways to read my post about a few Brewers prospects that may be on the list go here -http://stlucietoflushing.com/?p=406

Lets be clear about this deal. It was strictly for money, a paltry 5M more than they been paying him annually. This is something that didnt happen before Madoff. And it will probably happen again. We the Fans have been fu–ed by owners investment greed and stupidity.

In other words, you think it would be smart management of the Mets franchise to pay KRod $17.5M in 2012, more than any other closer in MLB, even though he is obviously nowhere near the best closer in MLB.
I assume that in your private life you buy a new Hyundai every year for $70,000, because it’s a smart way to manage your budget.
A stupid contract is a stupid contract, regardless of whether you are in NY or Pittsburgh. For some reason, Met fans think that giving out stupid contracts to KRod, Beltran, Wright, and Reyes are mandatory, because we’re in NYC, and we have to be stupid. The fans deserve the Mets to be stupid with their money, right?
I’m not saying the deal making was good. It wasnt. But do you have a better closer around than Krod? It’s 17M, but that didnt used to faze the Wilpons. Now it does.

I just perused the Brewers minor league team rosters. Yeesh! They have one fucking lousy system! I can’t find more than one or two players that I would even want. There is one guy, a RHP they have at low A ball named Tyler Thornburg who looks pretty good. Otherwise……… forget it.
I guarantee that the Brewers offered more than any other team for KRod. So if we get nothing back from him, what would you prefer, we keep KRod and pay him $17.5M for 2012? Seriously?
The names may be leaked out every so often but I doubt you’ll hear them from Sandy. They have to be minor leaguers since Milwaukee plays in the NL with the Mets (if AL team they could be big leaguers)
I may have heard wrong but I thought Sandy said there was a player who had been in the majors with some success on the list (but currently is in AAA)
Gamel? I doubt it but who knows
If we got Gamel/Thornburg… Either of them would make me very happy.
Thank You Brew Crew have fun dealing with Scott Borse K-Rods new agent. Thank You for your time with the Mets. Good luck with the Brewers.
