Considering the past history of the NYM medical staff I am certainly glad Jose’s Agent decided he should go outside for a medical opinion.

Putting Reyes on the DL may seem like bad news but if you ask me it is good news in one respect.

It stops him from going to the ASG and possibly doing something dumb to make it worse. and it means he is going to get a half a month to rest us at minimum which can’t be a bad thing since we need reyes for the end run more than we do this particular stretch of baseball.

As for the secret negotiations there is a two week stretch where Jose doesn’t have to worry about taking his mind off baseball so he can discuss things with his agent.
I don’t expect much to come of it other than some ballpark number that we need to hit to get him to re-sign.

But don’t let this report fool you into thinking Sandy has decided to keep Reyes here. He would like to but that doesn’t mean he will and if the negotiations go in a direction or a number that Sandy really doesn’t like, expect reyes to be traded!

I am so freaking glad that Jose is not being pushed out there before they are absolutly sure he is OK. That was one of my bigest gripes of the last administration. As far as the talks, we will see. I’d love to see something get done. The Team is looking better each and every day Ican’t help but notice how the team has came together in the absence of some big guys. If this is what Terry Collins brings to the table then Sand is a genious because this team needed this badly. For the first time since 06 they look like a team. This is the most fun i’ve had watching them play in a long time. Win or lose they are fun to watch. I was scared that the team was going to stink the place up this year and lose more attendance and spiral out of contention for the next few years instead it looks like they have a base to build from and will continue to get better over the nex few years. Here’s hoping that the ownership issues don’t interfere with Sandy’s plans for next year and beyond. Go Mets

damn it!!!! thank goodness this team is showing fight, collins has this team believeing in each other, hopefully reyes can come back healthy and with no issues whatsover..
with wright also looming and maybe santana, who knows, we can add pieces and keep fighting till the end.. hopefully with better results than in 2007-2008
