the Phils have to have a special coach work with him in the OF, to catch ground balls of all things. that I never heard of before. Something about being too tall to get his glove all the way down?

Both Brown's have question marks. Dominick, 23 (Phills) is a top 5 talent 5 tool Major League ready RFer but was sent home this winter after going 2-29 with Escohido in the DWL and is represented by Borass. He has 9 doubles and 3 HR's so far this year after missing time with a broken hand in ST.

Gary Brown 22, (Giants) had a terrible first year as a #1 pick but is playing real well in CF in the California League (A+) A speedy CFer with some pop, good instincts, poor arm and very busy hands and legs in the batters box.

It's great having three different NL teams and perhaps a couple of AL one's as well so starved for a great hitting outfielder in Beltran's walk year.

Personally I'm really hoping with us willing to pay the salary (who says the GM can't get the owner to change his mind on certain business practices?) that Cinn climbs back in and we could get Grandal, unless of course Teheran is really on the table which I just cannot believe would be possible.

yes they are called "prospects". it's the type of deal that turns a loser into a winner. just because you never heard of them doesn't mean they aren't worth plenty to people who know something about baseball.

Unless they're trying to be obtuse, I think the Giants are out of the running. They've been quoted as saying they'd rather not give up prospects and just take on his entire salary. I don't think they got the memo that this is not about a salary dump for the Mets. It's about getting back something useful we can use going forward. Alderson is willing to eat the entire remaining salary to do it.

I'd just assume pass on Dom Brown as well. I know what his minor stats look like but I've been keeping an eye on him last year when he was up for a brief period and this year. So far, he hasn't impressed me. He's not adjusted to major league pitching yet and his defense is less than stellar out their in RF, with a mediocre arm. Besides, I'd really rather have a pitching or catching prospect.

Actually, I'd really rather keep Carlos but that's just a pipe dream.
