Especially since he’s hitting better as a 3B than he was at a 2B. So Emaus was keeping Turner from hitting .250 with 16 RBI. That’s not a solid argument.

We didn’t even talk about Darwin Barney, and if rookie of the month qualifies you then put him on there also.

Turner had an insane May. But he followed it with a dreadful June, and he hasn’t exactly had a great July either.

Beachy leads all rookie pitchers in strikeouts, so yeah I think he has a shot. I didn’t say ALL of those guys will beat Gee. I said they are ALL competition for the award.

There are so many better ways to judge a guy than Wins. Yet thats all some people pay attention to!

Mostly because they don’t really watch the guys play they just watch the highlights.

take ESPN for example during football season.

They will talk about the teams who have good replays every week as if they are championship bound and make them sound like they are doing great despite the fact that replay was all they did and they lost when all was said and done.

he is in consideration because of his win totals. If those wins stop being recorded and awarded to him it won’t matter if he pitches Cy Young like.

Even if every start from here on out is a quality start if they don’t translate to wins it will hurt him more than the guys he is competing against.

UNLESS he gets his ERA below 2 which is hard to do these days for anyone!

It’s not the pitches themselves that get you out but the fact that you can not sit on any one of them that does! As long as Gee uses his head and keeps the batters guessing he has a great shot at ROY and 20 win seasons in the future!
