Outside of the injuries, he played well for the most part when on the field. He survived a head to head collision with Mike Cameron (hmmmmm ex-centerfielder playing right), he had 3 consecutive great seasons, injured for 2 and is having a good 2011. He played well in centerfield, and as someone said “outside of Andrew Jones, who was better in either league?”. He will be missed but I guess like it is in the game of baseball, it was time for him to move on. God bless him in S.F. and I wish he and his family well. Now I know it’s a stretch but if the Mets can play consistently, how good would it be for them to meet in the postseason? I think if the Mets can keep these 4 or 5 game win streaks going, they just may catch the Braves for the wild card. Of course, they have to leap frog St. Louis & Arizona, fend off Pittsburgh, win games against Florida & Washington, but it is possible. If the pitching can pick it up a notch, Wright & Reyes hit 5th gear, Duda blossoms in right, and Bay finds his power stroke it could be some “meaningful” games in September for real! I love baseball!
