quiet leadership, he let his bat do the talking, never proclaimed to be a leader as others did in this ballclub just because, he went out and gave his all in the field..
41 HR’s, great season, had not being for wright, reyes and delgado having magical season as well, this man was probably going to win the MVP, No Met has come close to 41 homers since. and on that stadium, noone will ever again.. imo
Called 3 strike, it shouldn’t even had come down to that, imo, willie randolph and wagner were the goats, willie got outcoached and wagner choked as usual in big spots, gave up 3 runs in game 2, then 2 in game 6, willie had no choice but to go to heilman, who by then was his most trustworthy guy.. we all know the rest..
