joe D, as i said before, i may have been nip picking but i thought we could’ve swept them, had we score in the first inning for some reason i thought the outcome would’ve been dif. great pitcher to be defeated you have to get at them early, if don’t, they will shut you down, that’s what happened yest, although having mike “the pitching version of david wright” pelfrey pitched yest didn’t help our chances either…
i am glad you picked the mets for the wild card, i said many times, the braves nor anybody else in the national league is a team we should fear, had everyone be healthy and producing i am sure we’d be singin a different tune right now..
mets are 36-27 since starting the season 5-13, that speaks volume for this team.. kudos to collins, REYES, beltran and the triple A squad for the job well done..

Knowing we were facing Verlander, I think many of us saw taking 2 out of 3 as a best case scenario. For a team that nobody gave any shot to at the beginning of the season, and then the media had dead and buried after we lost Davis and Wright, Collins has instilled a confidence and a swagger in this team we haven’t seen since Delgado, LoDuca were here in 2006. And yes I picked the Mets for a Wild Card this season in our predictions. (pats self on back, jk)

lmao @ yankee doodle, also greg, nice post, but what you failed to point out is how actually collins took blame for that in the post game interview, he said it was his fault that byrdak was brought in, he took the blame and said byrdak had all the right to be upset, he’s a stand up guy, while not the sharpest in game manager, he’s a manager players would give their all for..
also, about the tigers real quick, we could’ve had velander earlier, had collins decided to bunt pridie things i am sure would’ve been different, reyes at third with beltran coming up, pressure right away for the tigers and maybe would’ve eased up pelfrey to be less pressure to perform.. i guess i am being greedy, but with so much groun to cover, we need as many wins as we can get, so i am nitpicking here..
