I’m the one with the nonsense……..hilarious.

Everyone can read and understand what I said and meant but since you were wrong again, you twist it so it seems I was saying something I obviously wasn’t. It would be great if you can just for once say, “you’re right, Kazmir is a very unique case and Willis is the only recent example of such talent going to waste.” You know, like an adult would.

You said 1999, I responded in your frame of reference. Sorry if I have to spell everything out for you. I assumed you had some semblance of common sense, but that was obviously my mistake.

Dice-K and Bonderman never, ever had the talent Kazmir had. I can give you Prior talent-wise, but that was more due to injury than just losing his ability.

And yes before I posted that I DID realize that probably ALL pitching coaches have an idea of what they may do if they had them I didn’t think I had to point that out though.
I’m just talking about the Mets here…and like him or not Dan Warthen has had made the most of the talent given to him and has led the Mets pitching staff to being over-achievers 2 years in a row. Good enough for me to trust him with Scott Kazmir.

I’m sure every pitching coach has ideas on how to fix him. Warthen has never faced this kind of issue, though. He’s gotten great results from fringe pitchers, but he’s never had to “fix” someone who was once great and has lost everything.

Joe, I would certainly take the chance if I was the Mets, but I disagree on Kazmir not having many choices. He would cost a team roughly $250,000 for them to do with him what they please. With the ability he once had, I’m sure pitching coaches all over the league will think they can get something out of him. And there are more attractive choices out there than the Mets, what with position in the standings and potential roles for him.

But you’re 100% right about Kazmir being a mess at present.

I dont see Kazmir having many choices to choose from. If the Mets take a shot on him it’s 90% to create some fan buzz and 10% because their genuinely intrigued by his upside. I don’t see a problem with getting him back, but I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for him to return to the majors anytime soon. He’s lost all semblance of what he once was. His mechanics are all out of whack, he’s lost velocity, and has shown no control. He’s a mess right now.

It’ll be a shock if Kazmir chooses the Mets. The best they can offer him is the lefty specialist role for a team that’s overacheiving at .500. If a team like the Yankees or Phillies even look at him, he’s going there. Maybe he’ll make the nostalgic choice, but likely not.

Huge difference from Perez inasmuch as Kazmir HAD the goods Ollie never seemed to grasp m,aking him a much more worthy gamble. If he passes a physical, than why not? Lot of face to save & nothing to lose. Unfortunately, our crosstown cousins are SO desperate for pitching help, they may beat us out.

I think sandy Alderson and his front office are very astute when it comes to talent. I’d take a look see at Kazmir….he can’t be worse than Ollie Perez.
