Where Are All The Fans?
An article by Former Writers
Comments Off I’ve had to spend some down time at home this past week and I’ve watched a lot of baseball and I have a question or two and some comments.
Where Have All The People Gone?
Sure, some teams just don’t draw as much, but even now, there are empty seats at Yankee Stadium and even the Phillies ball park.
This is also taking place during good weather and bad, and even on weekends when you should be taking the kids to the ball games.
There are some interesting teams to see, particularly the Mets, who, despite all the chaos in the World of The Wilpons, are playing good baseball – even with a team made up of ‘Buffalo Boys’ who seem to fit right in.
Of course, Terry Collins, an old time baseball man has made it his responsibility to speak with everyone on the daily team’s roster before the game, and he is always available to the rest of the team as well.
Is anyone surprised at the Met’s record? Surely not David Einhorn who has come on board recently and has been seen attending Mets games with a flock of family and kids. David is the 42 year old $200,000,000 investor we’ve all heard about.
So, start singing “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” and support your team.
They need to see you – They really do. And while you’re there, buy yourself some peanuts and Cracker Jacks.
