while i don’t think he’s all that, he’s a guy just like john maine, once in a while can dominate, but when he stinks it up, he does it in a big way.. nice #3 or #4 depending on the team’s pitching staff.. here he’s consider a #1 when there’s no true #1, #2 or a legitimate #3 on the staff..

@Mil: 1-0, 1.32 ERA
@Pit: 2-2, 3.86 ERA
@SD: 1-0, 1.29 ERA
@SF: 0-1, 3.00 ERA
@StL: 1-0, 1.13 ERA

Total: 10-9, 4.13 ERA in 137.1 innings.

Take out his record against Arizona and he’s 10-5 with a 3.31 ERA on the road against non-NL East teams.

that is on the road primarily. I wonder what his road #s are outside of the NL east.

Yes Ed, Mike Pelfrey stands tall at home, but at 6’7″ he stands tall in movie theaters, restaurants and at the beach too.

I cant believe how stark the differeces are in his h/r splits. It’s like two different pitchers. Baseball uses l/r splits to guide so many aspects of the game from writing out a lineup card to which reliever to call in to face a certain batter. With a h/r split like Pelfrey’s his starts should be planned so that the majority come at home.
