Moving On Up
Mets are at .500, and just 3½ out of Wild Card Despite, or perhaps because of the inclement weather causing two rain delays, the New York Mets have crossed the barrier and are now at 500. “Well, we’re here, but you’ve got to stay here now,” Terry Collins said. “The accomplishment is now continuing to push forward and move above .500. We got back here. It’s been a long road and a long, uphill battle. And [...]

Mets Farm Report: June 15th, 2011
Buffalo Bisons (OFF) Binghamton Mets | 3 Richmond Flying Squirrels 5 Brandon Moore had issues with his control today and suffered as a result. Most of the walks he allowed came in the 1st inning, but he wasn’t commanding the ball particularly well even after that. After letting two runs score in the 1st inning on just one hit, due to three walks and a wild pitch, Moore pitched well in the 2nd and 3rd, [...]

Game Notes Jonathon Niese went a quality six and one third innings, giving up two runs on five hits, striking out five and walking one. June 15, 1977 – The Day The Music Stopped
Perhaps no other day in Mets history shook the franchise to its core like this date in 1977 when the organization traded The Franchise. Three days earlier, Seaver beat the Astros in Houston, 3-1, and after the game said: “This may very well be my last game as a Met.’’ Seaver went the distance that day, giving up five hits while walking two and striking out six to raise his record to 7-3 with a [...]

Mets Farm Report: June 14th, 2011
Buffalo Bisons 3 Columbus Clippers 7 This game was so close to finally being a very good start for Pat Misch. He was cruising through the game, having faced just two batters over the minimum through five, and then horror struck in the 6th inning. He had given up a run on a single and triple and it appeared as if he would get out of the inning without too much damage done. A bloop [...]

Morning Grind: Mets Pitchers Have Been Terrible On Offense, Even For A Pitcher
Mets pitchers in 2011 have just been pathetic at the plate. Yes, pitchers are suppose to be “the easy out” in the lineup, and more often than not, they are retired, but not at the pitiful rate the Mets pitching staff has. Mets pitchers are batting a collective .073 with 5 walks compared to 55 punchouts in 123 at-bats. The Mets pitcher’s batting average is near the bottom of the league in batting average, and this is even inflated due to Chris [...]
