Moving On Up

Mets are at .500, and just 3½ out of Wild Card

Despite, or perhaps because of the inclement weather causing two rain delays, the New York Mets have crossed the barrier and are now at 500.

“Well, we’re here, but you’ve got to stay here now,” Terry Collins said. “The accomplishment is now continuing to push forward and move above .500. We got back here. It’s been a long road and a long, uphill battle. And I’m so proud of the way those guys have hung in there. Now we’ve got to move forward. We can’t just say, ‘OK, we got here.’ We’ve got to keep moving.”

Terry Collins and this team are to be congratulated – they never, EVER give up – and it’s only June.

This is a team made up of all types of players, many of whom were in the minors when the season started - yet these players are playing like an “A” team for sure.

True Mets fans are persistent – they never stop believing, hoping, praying and cheering.

And last night in the midst of all the rain and delays the team persevered.

Kudos to all.

Let’s Go Mets!

  • We;ll do even greater things once David Wright is back and Ike Davis too. Our starting pitchers have exceeded all expectations and Niese just looks amazing. So many things to be happy about. :-)

  • we are DOING great things with david AKA (mr strikeout king/can’t hit in the clutch/mr stat padder once the game is out of reach either way) wright injure.. EVERYBODY is playing good, putting the ball on play, total team effort, even though the mets got a superstar and a star in reyes and beltran the team has really evolved around this 2 players and are playing better, none of that i’m a leader, i am the face of the franchize i need to step up crap from nobody, you lead by example, and the example is go out there, get your uniform dirty and stop giving out cliches about how we could’ve been better.. if mr wright comes back, i hope he can star hitting (not in the clutch, i don’t expect him to) so we can get a lot more value for him and trade him along with maybe pelfrey + prospects for more pitching, a true #1 or a legitimate #2 is needed here..

    • Without Ike too.

      • ike hasn’t been here long enough.. plus, he’s cheaper and less choker than #5

    • Dude, seek professional help. I’ve never seen such personal hatred for a player on a team you claim to root for. What’s your deal ? Does your significant other constantly say how handsome Wright is and how you don’t stack up ? Before you were funny about it, but now you’re just deparved.

      • sorry I meant depraved……

  • Time for the Mets to see the truth…Jose must stay and Turner is the future at 3rd base. This team is winning because of their desire to win. That seems to be coming mostly because of the effort we are getting from our young guns! Keep them in…make Wright earn his spot…I like our current roster!

  • When did we last shut out Bravos at Turner?

  • Hey here the movie tralier to MONEYBALL the story of Billie Beane and his strategy with the Oakland A’s. Looks good.
