He certainly hasn't come out of nowhere, he has excelled as a hitter at every level he has played on his way up the ladder. His career OBP is around .400! I'm sure he isn't a whiz with the glove, but neither is Daniel Murphy, Nick Evans, Lucas Duda or Zach Lutz.

They way the Mets have handled Satin has just completely puzzled me. As an older prospect because he was drafted as a senior you would think they would want to be aggressive with his promotions, but they have been the complete opposite and there is not some super prospect blocking him in Buffalo so it really makes no sense.

On the serious side, what in the world does Josh Satin have to do to get a call-up to AAA? Maybe if he hits for the cycle while standing on his head, he will get the promotion. FYI: Kingsport winning pitcher, Brian Valenzuela, is 5'9", with his spikes on. But congrats go out to the diminutive lefty, on his first professional win, after three fruitless seasons in which he was mostly injured. I commented yesterday on how Valdespin only hits when he is at the top of the batting order. Yesterday he batted second, and went 2 for 5. My guy to keep an eye on here is the 50th round draft pick out of Wintrop, C Eddie Rohan. Another catcher was drafted as a favor to the manager, in the 50 somethingth round, once upon a time. His name was Mike Piazza. Rohan's Wintrop teammate, pitcher Robert Lake, was signed by the Mets as an undrafted free agent, and is Eddie's teammate once again at GCL St Lucie. A 140 lb third baseman? Are you kidding me? Feed the kid for cryin out loud!
