And the Mets keep on falling behind. If now isn’t a time for a must win than when is? When it’s too late? If the Mets aren’t winning at home when will they ever win at home? There’s a time and a place where this team will have to put their foot on the petal and go, and that time is now, this little stretch run coming into the all star break will determine a lot when that time in September may or may not come. Must win… Must sweep? Really? Even so it’s not late September, it’s late June fellas. With three months of ball to play the team can easily fall apart or have a good run. Yes the A’s are not a championship bound team, but the last time I checked the Mets are 35-37… a loosing team. Let’s please take it one game at a time and not start pre-ordering the 2011 N.L Wild Card merchandise. Thanks.

If the Mets are going to show the baseball world that they are a ture wild card contender, they are going to need to win these next couple of series, if not sweep all three of them (which is highly doubtful). The A’s, Rangers, Tigers, and Yankees are nothing to laugh at.

The Mets should have swept the Braves last week, and they should have won the game against the Angels on Friday night. Now that its almost summer teams are going to start to make a push towards the top of the standings, whether it be the division or wild card. I think if the Mets are going to be a contender for the WC, they are going to need to win alot more games, and not give them away like they did during the Braves and Angels series.

Explain something to me?

The AL is beating the NL pretty easily in interleague series this year… The Mets are 2 games under .500 and 4.5 games out of the playoffs yet Toronto who is .500 is 6 games out?

When you say false stuff, do you actually believe it to be true or do you just hope nobody asks you to elaborate?

Mets in toughest division? Other than the AL East you mean?

I’d say Mets should be happy with 2 of 3 here but, the A’s are scorching since Bob Melvin took over. The Athletics are 2 games worse than the Mets and just a week ago everybody was laughing at them

I think the Mets will sweep, and need to quite frankly. That road record is gonna be hard to keep up especially with trips to Texas and Detroit. Then, we come back for the Yankees, the Mets need to be .500 before this tough week and a half stretch upcoming for their psyche if anything else.

Ultimately, I’d be happy with 2 of 3. Gio Gonzalez is really good and if the Mets lost that one I coldn’t really throw a fit. But the other two games the A’s are throwing kids (although Outman’s been good this season). No reason not to take 2 games, and I’d love to see Dickey step it up against Gio.

if we allowed one of this pitchers we’re facing become joel pinero then we’re doomed.. i mean, the angels are a bad team, yet they take 2 out of 3, bad performing with RISP by the team.. they must iimprove at home.. quickly!

It’s not a must win, it’s a must sweep. I don’t usually beg for sweeps because they’re so hard to do, but the A’s are really in the tank and most importantly, the Mets are missing Trevor Cahill. There’s no real reason NOT to win all three games.
