Davis was having a nice season before he got injured, but he hasn’t played since May 10 and he’s not expected back until around the all-star game…i mean Moises Alou batted .342 with 13 HRs in the 102 games he actually played for the Mets, but you don’t put a guy in the all-star game because he plays well when he is healthy enough to play only a partial season.

As for Beltran, I agree, a case could be made for him…amongst the league leaders in XBH’s and SLG…however, he is batting below .280 and barely ranks in the top 20 in any other offensive category, granted, some of that could be contributed to the weak lineup around him, but there are several other NL OFers who are having pretty big offensive seasons (Kemp, Braun, Berkman, Soriano – just went on DL, Bruce, Holliday, Stanton). Depends on how many OFer’s Bochy puts on the roster and how many roster spots go to the required 1 player per team rule. Beltran could be the 6th or 7th NL OFer if it works out.

However, I still feel Reyes and K-Rod are the only 2 Mets who are no-brainers for the all-star team…no one else on this team should feel “snubbed” if they don’t make it…how many players from 4th place teams usually make it on an all-star team?

other than reyes and maybe krod, noone else deserve to be even mention next to all star, reyes won’t star because for some reason the media and fans are enfatuated with the overrated tulowitzki and hanram is just straight up garbage this year, but those 2 will be elected ahead of reyes.. mets fans don’t vote for all stars if is not david allen wright, who’s the most overrated met according to the players vote in the SI poll
