Matt Harvey Is Going To Binghamton

HarveyGood news from Port St. Lucie where Mets prized pitching prospect Matt Harvey was pulled from starting in the FSL All Star Game. He will be replaced by less heralded, Mets left-hander Darin Gorski.

According to MiLB.com, Harvey was scratched because he is scheduled to be promoted to Double-A Binghamton after making one more start for St. Lucie.

The Mets 2010 first rounder has won four straight decisions and is 8-2 with a 2.44 ERA on the season. Overall, Harvey has piled up 88 strikeouts to 22 walks in 70 innings over 13 starts.

I’m looking forward to seeing Baseball America’s mid season rankings where I will expect Matt Harvey to be ranked the Mets top prospect.

  • Hopefully, he adapts and continues his success

  • One step at a time.

  • Matt harvey will be minaya’s greatest draftee.. mark my words!!!!

    • Well, in Minaya’s case… the “pickin’s” were slim haha

  • I’m wondering if Harvey will be coming to a team with no stars and in complete rebuild mode when he finally arrives. How sad would that be.

  • Great opportunity for the young man and I hope he continues to develop and when he finally arrives at Citi, bad team or not, he will have earned it by working hard in minors and not being rushed or pushed as past pitchers/players have been.
    God speed Matt!
