LMFAO @ David Wright clutch. Late and clutch is meaningless. If you fail 7 out of ten times in “late and close” you’re costing your team wins. Wright is an abomination late in games. I think he has 2 walk off homers in his entire career. The man NEVER gets huge hits. That’s been his career in a nutshell and no IDIOTIC stathead GARBAGE is going to change what Wright is…a perennial CHOKE ARTIST.

I´m starting to see the Visble Hand of Terry Collins making it´s presence felt in the Mets Clubhouse. Which is why I find it absurd to be tossing the towel at this juncture. Season´s far from over, no more “doom and gloom”. 6/10/11

Who are the smart baseball people you speak of. I thought so.
Those stats are there on ESPN look it up. I’m not lying but I like how his stats are downplayed by the statement, ” Give me memories of Wright great moments” sounds familiar. It’s funny that’s what the fatso on the radio says when you show him facts.
Also in order to have memorable moments you have to win in the playoff. They haven’t had that opportunity lately but who has so many memorable moments? It’s not like everyone else has so many of these moments. Off the top of your head who can you name in the entire MLB. Wright has his fair share trust me. He’s not one of the most popular Mets for no reason and by the way all runs contribute to the wins no matter when they come.

Wright is not a clutch hitter, it’s as simple as that. Without looking at stupid numbers that don’t tell you when and where things happen and what types of situations they are…..give me your memories of all of Wright’s great, memorable Mets moments.

Go ahead give me all the great moments he’s provided Mets fans since 2004.

Wright’s legacy is that of a guy who is SMALL in BIG spots. Smart baseball people already know that

Wright is clutch. Check the stats on ESPN.COM. They have the splits. You must be listening to Francesa. He’s the one that stirs up the fans. If you like the Mets you probably should not like anything he says.
By the way for the list of favorite players that you posted. KROD should not be there in my opinion. If you think Wright is not clutch wow KROD really hurts.

I agree about jessep but disagree about everything else. If a player doesn’t try, outwardly don’t care, says or does things detrimental to the team then those are the players you boo but then again you wont have the opportunity because management would or should suspend or get rid of those players.
An example of of this is Oliver Perez. When he didn’t take the opportunity to get better by going to the minors when the team asked, he ruined it for me. That was selfish and prevented the team from playing at full capacity. He and his agent knew that they could force the Mets to keep him because he had a ridiculous salary and they would not entertain the thought of releasing him and having some other team get him on the cheap, fix him and make it really hurt.
Luis Castillo is different and should not be mentioned in the same breath. He tried, cared, played hurt most of the time but the constant criticism took a toll on him and I felt that it started when he signed the 4 yr deal. I liked him then as probably a 2 yr stop gap but when he got 4, a lot of people soured on him. The end came in that Yankee game when he dropped the pop-up.
Bay looks like he is trying too hard sort of like what Wright is doing also but Wright can handle it better.
I can understand fans being upset because they pay for their ticket but it is counter productive. Home field advantage is called that because players are happier and excited to play for the people who know and love them the best. A happy player plays better.
Would you do your job better if people were always criticizing every move you made. He knows that he gets paid a lot of money. Why would he purposely not play to his potential. He is trying, Leave him alone. Yes it’s disappointing but that’s for the coaching staff to figure out what can we get out of him or do with him. Lets Go Mets!!!

How on earth do the 2 relate? Reyes’ contract has to be about moving forward. How is he going to fit in with the team for the length of whatever it is, not how has he done the last few weeks.

Facts, guy, I’m bringing facts. You only have a perception crafted by guys who make money off trashing the Mets. They will keep saying things like “Murphy’s still standing on 3rd”

Look at the facts. Look at the numbers. Late and close, Wright is only slightly under his career over all average.

Constantly repeating silly things like “David Wright isn’t clutch. He folds in big spots” etc doesn’t make those statements right. It makes you a person who says silly things.

I’m not throwing all the philosophers here into the trick bag some of what they say is valid.
But most of what EVERYONE is saying is based on the first two weeks in the season. And if they didn’t happen the entire conversation would be very different right now. We would also probably be in the division lead if we had played more like May and June and the last two weeks in April in the first two weeks.

I’m in an airport on the way to do the Miss USA broadcast so post will be via phone and scarce the next two weeks.

In answer to the GOOD ENOUGH and the concept of jaded I would use the word SPOILED.
In NY there is no grey area. YOU Are either the chapion or the worst team in baseball.
If Philly did what we propose they would not be where they are today. They didn’t trade Rollins or Howard because they wanted a big salary.
They didn’t panic after falling short a few times before they finally won. WS and blow it because they were juumed Good not good enough,

This team HAS a core, Wright Reyes Davis and Niese.

May add to it with Murphy Turner Gee Harvey Mejia and Havens. Will clear 20 mil even without trading Beltran and can save more trading HIM and maybe Bay if we pay some of it.
And if we “FANS” would decide to go see a team currently winning at a .600+ clip. They might make 20 mil instead of losing 70 and we could then pay Reyes and Beltrans replacement or get that ACE everyone whines about not having.

Most people are complaining based on April14th, Not what is happening now and that really was my point in writing that!
They have committed their soapbox to us sucking and admitting we don’t suck that bad screws up their agenda set on April 14th.
