The difference is from the last four years is that the others around him were not healthy, the idea is to get all the best guys playing healthy and their best at the same time.

Wright was healthy the last four years what makes this year different? They were 5 games below 500 when he went out with everyone but Bay, meanwhile Davis and Reyes were having carreer years but your probably right all they needed was Wright to go on the DL a few weeks and they will magically be better. So to answer your question no I don’t think a healthy Wright will help this team. I know that they will be what they have been all year no matter who is there

I think Ike is already doing some minimal baseball activities. The big hurdle for him is running. He’s supposed to be re-evaluated on Wednesday to see how things are healing and if he can be cleared to start trying to run again.

I believe I saw somewhere that Ike will be re-evaluated later this week to see if his ankle improves.

My point is there is no reason to get excited about Wright coming back they were no better with him then without him. The mets have been terrible for the last two seasons and choked the two before that. I’d rather see a 500 team with a low payroll then a 500 team with a large payroll.

Haha yeah seriously. The “apple cart” tips over anytime the team gets within a game of .500. Every so often they actually reach the lofty goal of .500 before the axle blows. The apple cart needs plenty of adjustments and disruptions IMO

Bayonne, agreed. Ike is our cleanup guy. Wright needs to get himself together like Bay does, and has shown signs of doing.

They both need less pressured situations than 3rd or 5th spot.

Wright isn’t as bad as Bay so the 5 spot is a good place for him.

A lineup like this would be ideal: Reyes, Murphy/Turner, Beltran, Ike, Wright, Pagan, Bay, Thole.

That provides depth.

Upset the apple cart ? Lol. Beltran is doing well, but prior to his hr the other day he had cooled off quite a bit over the past several weeks. It will be nice to get wright and Ike back and bring some much needed power back. Turner has cooled off from his hot start and while murph has done well, he’s not a cleanup hitter. Getting wright (and Ike) back ASAP would be great

Take your time David, Carlos Beltran is doing a great job batting third in your absence. Dont come back util your 110% healthy and ready to go, no matter how long that takes. The important thing is that you dont come back too soon and upset the apple cart.
