For most Mets fans, the worst player moves in the history of this franchise were the banishing Tom Seaver to Cincinnati and the Nolan Ryan for Jim Fregosi fiasco.

Unless the Mets were to obtain a first rate starting pitcher under the age of 30 and two very good prospects (AA or higher) I can't see them trading Jose Reyes. When he is healthy and he sure is at the present time....Jose is this generations Ricky Henderson. Trading him for less would further indicate that there is just no money available to resign him despite the new $$$$ partner, David Einhorn.

Once again, we have a load of injuries to deal with so we will be fighting to play .500 ball until the injured are better. It is a tribute to Terry Collins and the staff that the guys are playing hard especially with all the rumors surrounding this team at all times. It is not always fun to watch and at times they are brutal as in the early to mid 90's but they remain "Amazin"

Collins is right in more than one Jose Reyes will be the lead off hitter for the NY Mets for at least 4 more years. I meets will sign him to a contract extension of at least 4 years. The only way they will trade him is to get a whole lot of players at least one major league player and about 5 top prospects with a couple of them major league ready. He will just put more body's in seats at Citi Field as the Mets get there act together and WIN Games. and stop finding ways to loss them late in the game what is that about 10 so far this year.

The problem when Manuel moved Reyes to 3 are 1) Reyes was still recovering from his health issues. He wasn't going to hit well no matter where he was and 2) no one seems to have explained to Reyes that he was there to just do what he always did. He got back to that damn uppercut swing. If he has stayed as the line drive gap hitter we all know and love and was recovered, he would have done well in the 3 spot.

That said, Reyes is the best hitter, so he belongs at the top of the order.
