There are two chances of the Mets signing Prince Fielder as a free agent, slim and none!

First….he is going to ask huge numbers and second he is a liability health wise. If the Brewers wanted to trade him to the Mets it would still be unlikely as they would want Ike Davis as part of a package and Ike is going nowhere!

Prince will more than likely sign with an AL team where he could DH at times

How the hell would Cecil know where Prince is going? Doesn’t Prince hate his father for digging into his money? Keep Prince FAR away from here. All he’ll do is break down after he turns 30.

Spend it on Reyes or someone else. Fielder is a DH like his dad down the line..He should be a DH now, he does not move at first much.

Kind of a “well duh” statement there. I guess that puts the Mets in the top 30 teams that have a shot at him.

But, really, why would the Mets consider Fielder? He’s an awesome player, no doubt, but the Mets should be trying to resign Reyes and already have a good young 1B. Ike’s no Prince Fielder, but he’s a damn fine player in his own right and its better to keep a short stop with Reyes’ production.

Considering that the Yanks and Sox are set at 1st, this is obviously just a very poor attempt at trying to bring up Prince’s market price. The Mets (apparently) barely have enough money to sign their own superstars, let alone go out and splurge on someone like Fielder. Yes, their in-house heir apparent at 1B is currently injuried (and frankly I fear for his career with the type of injury he has) but I want no part of paying Fielder the kind of money he thinks he’s going to get.

Tough beans Prince, you picked a poor year to be an FA. Enjoy the Cubs.
