Carlos Beltran Is Day To Day
The Mets are calling Carlos Beltran’s injury a “right leg contusion” after X-rays were taken and came back negative.
They are classifying him as day to day.
Beltran left Sunday’s game after fouling a ball off the inside of his right shin in the second inning. He finished the at-bat, striking out against Tim Hudson, but then walked off the field gingerly and appeared to be in pain as he walked to the dugout.
After the game, Terry Collins said Beltran was dizzy and getting his leg iced in the trainers room, and that he will probably wake up in the morning with some pain and swelling.
He will be re-evaluated again on Tuesday before they make a determination on if he will play against the Brewers.

in case anyone is wondering why is not such a bad thing overall that beltran is out, is that fact we have JOSE REYES: Over the last 10 games, he’s hitting .465 with 13 runs scored, four doubles, four triples and six RBI. He also has a 10-game hitting streak and has scored at least one run in nine straight. He’s not hot, he’s scorching.
no wright, no davis, now no beltran, no good SP, horrible bullpen and a POS jason bay and the mets amazingly are still hanging around the 500 mark, can you imagine where they’d be w/o reyes?? if you ask me, right now, MVP conversation is not that far off… only if the mets get back in contention and reyes keeps up, he’d be consider i tell you that.
NO DOUBT Reyes is Caliente!! LOVE IT
However, anyone with even ONE brain cell would ever say IT IS OK for another man wearing a Jersey with METS across his chest to be out.
Hanging around .500 is NOT good enough for me, it may be for you, but I want them ALL back and healthy and watch what they can really do.
PS – no good starting pitching? Have you ever heard of Gee or even Niese of late?
was gonna say the same thing about the SP. This series, Neise, Dickey and Gee were all stellar.
the pen, not so much!
Gee, ok, and niese ok.. but that was only at home, remember guys, good SP means consistant SP at home AND on the road!!!!!
other than Gee, every met at some point on the season has been a question mark, dissapoint or flat out a POS (pelfrey)
Day to Day becomes week to week becomes out a month to two months. Let’s see.
lmao, with the mets is true, although they are more quicker at letting the fans know what’s going on with the players than before
Beltran is day to day until some time later this week when they will announce he will miss 8-10 weeks.
Planning to drive up to MILW tomorrow. Brewers are good; don’t want to see Metsies take field w/o Beltran.
Reyes is wonderful, but he cannot carry an entire team.
At this point our “ACE” is probably weakest link in starting rotation.
Reyes is wonderful, but he cannot carry an entire team.
he’s the leadoff hitter, he can only do so much, is up to wright, beltran, bay and davis to drive him in, but one is a choker, the other sucks, davis is fragile and beltran can’t carry the load anymore, that leaves you reyes, and in 10 games, he’s good for 5 wins… not bad if you ask me
Just wait till Bay gets his groove back…I didn’t say hold your breath
STOP with the choker crap……….a guy that drives in 100 RBI’s a year is NOT a chocker – or according to you they don’t matter.
We get it – you have a boy crush on Reyes – thats cool – but that doesn’t mean you have to bash others at the same time.
Davis is fragile? There you go making up crap again.
PS – you mentioned Reyes is good for 5 wins in 10 games – funny you talk about a choker in Wright at every chance, talk about how great reyes is but NEVER once mentioned that HIS ERROR cost TWO games….
1 error cost 2 games?? how so?? please elaborate?
Sorry for the typo
He had two errors in two games that had critical outcomes – The Cubs game, and this past Friday night.
EVERYONE makes mistakes – but stop being so selective your memory and criticism of others.
and btw, david wright is a known choker, and also the #15 most overrated player in MLB.. the players said so
If a guy routinely drives in 100 RBI’s and has on or close to 30 homeruns – how is that a choker.
Keep in mind, there is NO player in the history of the game that has driving in the winning run in the bottom of the 9th every chance they had.
Well if the players so………then it must be true……..
palmeiro hit 40 home runs and 120 rbis for like 8 straight years, never amounted to nothing.. don’t gimme that, if you go to the games or watch the games as i do, then you SHOULD know how often this guy strikes out in a big spot, or just fail to come trough.. come on, we’ve been at this forever, since 2007, this man showed me and mets fans that when the pressure was on, his cohoon-es got very little.. even the owner said it..
even the owner said it………….
Heh also said a few things about your boy crush, so then that is true too?
yessss,
he said he’s a racehorse… true
won’t get crwaford money… true
Alex — I’m not gonna get into a debate about Wright but just know that if you take that poll as serious as you obviously do, then you’re missing the boat.
Jeter was ranked what #2?
I’d bet you anything every player who took that poll would want Jeter on their team. The same goes for ARod.
jeter is overrated, arod to a certain degree he is, if you ask me wright is way below where he should be…
Any player that reaches 3000 hits is not overrated.
Really with the track record of our medical staff I am truly surprised they didn’t say Beltran merely has a cold…
Beltran day to day? Wuh Woh!
