exactly how many times have the mets actually been in first in their 50 years of existance,not that many.i think that’s why.watching the braves and yankees dominate for so long and now the plils,its not the end of the world to me,but i’d like to see them dominate for awhile, it’d be nice for a change, instead of having to watch underachieving players, poor play and injury riddled teams of late and years past.we’ve been around for awhile now and the mets have mostly been unsuccessful, and it’s not getting any better.

because metsie, you should know by now, 99.99% of metsie fans are totally without any functioning grey matter. and you of course got them wrong…. the world is ending when the metsies are first because all hatin little metsies know their big boys will choke…..again. go bravos….. go nats….. go phillies…… go fish…..

Joe, maybe I have a reason why you’re a bit gloomy. You’ve overlooked the last 7 days of Daniel Murphy. He’s hit .542, with 13 hits in 24 plate appearances, with 4 RBI’s. Tonight he went 2 for 4 against Jurrjens and is 6 for 18 against him in his career.

So have a pint of Guinness on Daniel. It’s medicinal.

My biggest bad part of this year has been the injuries.
Some can’t be avoided but come on, how does a “simple” sprained ankle turn into a bigger issue as does the “confusing” injury to David?
How can one team go through all this injuries especially to their best players and not suffer and then be expected to compete and win with basically your AAA team up here?

I sense your pessimism Joe yet I don’t see how to explain the injury but.
I can have issues with the handling, that has been better this year, but the continuing injuries to “key” players is beyond belief.

The team this year, other than Izzy and K-Rod, have been a mixture of regulars, call ups, veterans on the last leg of their career, and so how does someone like Collins be expected to put out a regular lineup that players know when and where they are playing which breeds continuity and trust?

Lastly the failure lately of Mets pitchers to hold onto a late inning lead has gotten to be so bad but what can Collins and SA due?
I believe Frankie will be ok but having to not over use Izzy is getting to be a problem when you only are in June and no other pitcher in BP has stepped up to help?
Hopefully Parnell will find his control and confidence cause I don’t see Izzy making it to end of the season healthy.

Praying for complete or 8 inning game from Gee tonight so team can feel better and maybe go on a roll.

We are stuck with what we have until David, Ike and Johan return so lets try and play clean, sound ball and not allow other teams to think they can come back on us.

The pessimists may have been right, but nothing’s going to make me believe me that this cannot be turned around. I refuse to sit around and say woe is us or why us?, it’s easy to get kicked when you’re down, but you can get up and fight and I know the Mets will.
