The Mets will take 5 years to recover if they lose Jose Reyes. What will the players that remain think about losing Reyes? I doubt there’s one who wants to see Reyes traded or not re-signed. How can you look at your team in the face and say you are committed to winning after you lose Reyes? If it happens it means the end of the Alderson era. No way the fans take it sitting down. In this age of social media, losing Reyes will create such a firestorm that the Mets may never recover from for the rest of this decade in attendance.

Once again I implore the Mets Management to sign Jose, and do it soon. He is the most exciting player in the National League as of right now, and he is still young. How could you not keep this player?

As ‘sarge’ says this player does cry out “Life Time Met” – and that’s a serious title.

Jose knows no other team and I believe that is very important to him.

Get those pens out, guys.

Finally here is a player whom Mets have brought up through their system, he has seen the good and the bad years including injuries.
Here is a player that begs, no cries out “LIFE TIME MET
Here is a chance for Mets and Jose to make this a mutually beneficial arraingment that would benefit the team, fans and Jose. It is as difficult as the media or some blogs make out to be.

Since the days of Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden, no homegrown player has provided as much excitement to the Mets’ fanbase as Jose Reyes. We’ve watched him grow from an energetic teenager to a sometimes immature superstar to the leader he has become this year.

The team may have changed dramatically since Jose Reyes played his first game eight years ago today, and Reyes has changed quite a bit as well, but one thing hasn’t changed. Jose Reyes plays the game to win. He plays the game to have fun. He plays the game, period. We should be thankful that we’ve been able to watch Reyes play for the past eight years. Talent like that doesn’t come along very often.

APPLAUSE!!!!!! You nailed it on the head! SIGN HIM FRED!!!!
