But considering how many Met fans NOT attending made their ability to GET those tickets is the real crime here!

I’m not saying Philly fans are great fans or anything (they are to the phillies) just saying that they have been drawing rather regularly while we Met fans have been organizing Boycotts (as if thats going to get rid of Wilpon or make them play good) and When Sandy gets his budget to fix things and resign guys they like (such as reyes) they had better get a mirror to yell at the guy who caused there to be no money to sign anyone or fix anything!

If the Philly fans had figured that out back when they were where we are, it might not have taken all that time to create a good team.

Let’s not compare histories since the Mets came into being, because the Mets have lost even more games than the Phils since then.

As for the ‘few years of fleeting success’, I’d take those over ‘isolated seasons of limited success’ the Mets have had since I’ve been watching baseball.

What’s really pathetic is that the Phillies fans are such losers, they can’t enjoy their success. They find it necessary to bash everything they can about the Mets, their fans, and the players of past Mets teams. When the Mets were going good (back in the day), Mets fans never gave a rat’s ass about the Phillies, or their stupid fans. And we still don’t.

Philadelphia is a dump. It’s city to slums ratio is disgusting and mildly concerning. In the Northeast region where everyone talks about the cities of New York and Boston, Philadelphia is in a very distant third. They have serious inferiority issues and want to toot their horns since recently winning only their second World Series and one of their few championships in the city history, that makes us here in NYC go “oh, I forgot Philly had teams.” For a city who’s only claims to fame are steaks with cheese and a city version of Colonial Williamsburg, they are merely enjoying their brief time in any limelight. Tomorrow we will all forget about this article in a small-time newspaper and Philadelphia will go back to being the after thought of the nation and irrelevant to the rest of the world.

He wakes up every morning in Philadelphia. Wouldn’t that make you angry at the world and ready to lash out at anything that makes you feel the least bit insecure?

Look at the team’s history. They’ve been around about 3x as long as the Mets and have the same number of World Series championships. They are the losingest franchise in sports history. They make the Cubs look proud.

They know that these few years of fleeting success will come crashing down soon. They have a bunch of expensive, aging veterans, their franchise player is locked in for about a decade and is a strikeout waiting to happen, and they can’t hit their (considerable) weight. That and their uniforms look like they should be selling cotton candy at little league games.

I know most people get angry when Phillie fans act like this. I just pity them.
