Pedro Beato got the win in Buffalo’s 4-3 victory over Louisville yesterday. He allowed two hits and a walk in 1 1/3 innings in relief.

Beato is expected to again pitch Tuesday for the Bisons writes Adam Rubin, before being activated from the disabled list on Wednesday. Beato is returning from a bout with right elbow tendinitis.

Tim Byrdak Washington Nationals v New York MetsSouthpaw reliever Mike O’Connor is more than likely to go back to Buffalo once Beato is activated or Pat Misch, leaving a widely ineffective Tim Byrdak to carry on in the bullpen once again.

Byrdak, 38, now has a 5.59 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in 17 appearances for the Mets this season.

He nearly allowed the Astros to comeback on Sunday, before reliever Jason Isringhausen relieved him. Izzy picked up three outs and got out of the inning while preserving the Mets lead.

Except for Byrdak, the Mets bullpen has been very effective this month.

O’Connor has allowed just one hit and struck out four in four appearances since being called up.
