A team that loses not one but two starters to injury on plays in which no one called for a fly ball is not being well coached. I want Collins to succeed because I bleed blue and orange, but lets calm down with the praise of a .500 ball club. This is a guy who batted Chin Lung Hu second this month.

Annie, I like your observation regarding Terry’s handling of the Beltran move to RF early this season. Of course, it is possible that it was an easy mgmt move because Carlos may very well have been ready for it mentally given the difficulties he had been experiencing with his knees. Nevertheless, it is a great contrast to how Girardi “handled” Posada’s situation. I relish the Yankee difficulties and especially liked Big Baby Georgie striking out with the bat on his shoulder with a runner on 2nd and the score tied in last night’s game. I think you have made a fine point regarding Collins as manager. However, there have been many very good managers in Mets history, including the colorful Casey to get it started. Let’s hope that Terry Collins continues successfully to earn the right to be included in that list with Casey, Gil, Davey, and Bobby V. For an organization with rare championships, the Mets have had a history of good managers. Hopefully, Collins will restore that tradition.

Would it be bullying that he’s playing 2B for the NY Mets right now and aside for you and the other clown’s stupid numbers MOST professional people AS YOU KNOW regard him as a solid glove. Maybe he had some adjustment problems but I don’t know but bottom line he’s a VERY GOOD glove and you hear them say it on TV everyday.

I leave the other stuff to the clowns here who just pick numbers when they feel like.

Donal, would it be bullying if I mentioned that Tejada was ranked 77th out of 92 major league guys at 2b in 2010? (Based on the fielding average of players in at least 50 games.) Yup Bayonne’s baby had 76 ranked ahead of him.

Would it be bullying if I mentioned here that Tejada had a .938 fielding percentage in Buffalo would mean we are in a lot of trouble if thats the best defensive 2B we could muster?

It’s far too early to be singing his praises. We saw similar articles written 2-3 months into Randolph’s and Manuel’s reign. We all know what happened with both of them in time. And we do know Collins has a history of self destructing after 12 months with one team. Tread carefully before giving him your warm embrace. Plus you failed to mention a week’s worth of boneheaded in-game moves by him.

After less than 2 months you decide this? What’s wrong with you? Did you forget about Davey, Gil, & Bobby V? How about Torre? He may not have had good talent on his teams but i don’t remember any problems with players with him. What kind of a post is this?
