Anyway, just speculating a trade partner and one ripe for the taking. Why would Yankees overpay? Because assests (i.e. players or currency) have different value/priority to that organization. Like the whining child, they live in the moment and right now too many key performers are underachieving.

True, trades are rarely made in May, but as Yogi said, “it’s getting late early.” That classic can apply to both teams. N

wht a anarticle. Demponstrates clearly that the author has absolutely ZERO KNOWLEDGE. Major trades dn’t happen in May. I guess its irrelevant to the author. Major trades don’t happen between the Yanks and the Mets. I guess its irrelevant to the author. the Yankees are happy when the Mets are down. Only an idiot org would help chanmge that. Oh wait, the author thinks all teams have owners as dumb as the Mets do.

The Yankees could benefit from Beltran, Pelfrey, etc etc…
But when was the last time the Mets and Yankees made a featured player trade if ever?
If the Mets are truly rebuilding I would think they would be offering Beltran to the Yankees..
Beltran for Swisher, prospects?
I think Nick Swisher is signed for the next few years. Swisher is a “tries hard, smiles a lot type” If your ownership rebuilding this is the type of relatively low cost good attitude, semi productive player you want.
Just a thought.. Do the Yankees have any outstanding outfield prospects?

Sanchez or Romaine were exactly who I was thinking of. Yankees might have interest in Capuano, Beato, Bucholtz, Izzy or even K-Rod as well.

Yanks problem right now is pitching and I don’t see the new regime of Cashman and Steinbreneer, Jr. doing anything that will help Mets cause they have needs down the road this summer, especially for pitching and with Martin not a guarantee to last they will not give up their catching talent for a rental.

Oh, Carlos is not the only hot story on Mets this year, there is Jose, K Rod, Turner, Pridie, Beato.

Well, I don’t know. Nobody makes their prospects sound better than the Yanks. It is just that almost every one of them comes up short. It would not bother me to send him there. He wanted to go there anyway. It would bother me to send him there for a half ass, though. If the Yanks can pay more than everybody, they should pay more than everybody. The mets should get a home town INCREASE in trade value.
