Tulowitzki Leads Colorado’s Win Over Mets, 5-4
Game Summary
Niese started off well but fell off the wagon near the fifth and sixth innings. Bullpen was great with three innings of relief. Belran, Pagan, and Murphy led the offense. Despite some positives, the Mets lose 5-4 to the Rockies.
Game Notes
Jon Niese started out with a great outing until he hit the fifth and sixth innings. He just couldn’t seem to shake Tulo today as he got three hits off Niese. Niese, who doesn’t give up many home runs, gave up two in back-to-back innings. He also threw over 100 pitches in just six innings. Niese may need some conditioning, because he really shouldn’t need to be going through that many pitches in that short of time. His line ends up as six innings pitched, five earned runs, on seven hits and two homeruns, three walks, and struck out five batters. His ERA goes to 6.88.
Former Rockie, Taylor Buchholz and rookie pitcher, Pedro Beato both pitched a hitless inning with a walk and two strike outs each. DJ Carrasco also provided a scoreless inning of work with one hit, one walk, and one strike out. However, the great bullpen could not save the Mets.
The offense basically consisted of the trifecta of Carlos Beltran, Angel Pagan, and Daniel Murphy. They combine for five hits, all three of the Mets RBIs. Pagan also had a triple. Reyes, Beltran, and Murphy all had a double in the game. Mets were 1-9 with RISP tonight, the Mets biggest issue.
Turning Point
Tulo’s homerun off Niese.
Game Ball
Carlos Beltran with two hits, a double and an RBI

Disappointing loss.
Tulo is a stud. Chipper is retiring but Tulo will be the new Mets killer. This team is ill conceived and poorly constructed. Too many weak areas to count, too many.
Sure could’ve used a scoreless inning from Carrasco Sunday vs Washington. Chris Young could’ve ended his Mets career 2-0 instead of 1-0 with an undeserved no-decision. Just kidding about ending his career, I hope, but 2 starts in and already 2 health issues popping up: biceps problem and shoulder soreness which apparently showed up vs Philly. Now, we’re gonna have to hope Carrasco gives us some innings on Friday? Hey Sandy, better option or DFA a couple more bench players to make room for some more relievers! Has a ML team ever carried 10 relief pitchers in the regular season?
LOL
Another nice play by Murphy today at 2nd base. He also had a RBI double and run scored by him. Who said he could not play 2nd base. I know Bayonne will answer.
Ignore the losses little metsie, afterall nothing is more important than murphy making a good play. who cares you lost AGAIN!!! Great game, funny listening to the announcers praisde the white haired clubhouse destroyer all night when he lost the game. Only the greatest managers pitch to Tulo on a night he has no protection. Oh well, I’m sure donutz and jersey and false agee will blame Minaya and Manuel. They’ll do it for the next decade. Enjoy the double loss today little metsies. Ah maybe a split. Can’t lose em all you know.

‘Who cares?’ Apparently you do a great deal as you spend more time here than Met fans do. Mets have failed to be on the Phillies radar for over 2 years, yet you Philly fans just cannot stop obsessing over all things Mets. I’d work on that little problem. Start with looking up ‘insecure’ in the school library, focusing on the part that discusses even when things are positive and going well, you still feel like you don’t measure up or belong.
Dont you have anything better to do than come here and rag on us? Just go gloat on your Phillies or whatever team and get out of here. its not how you start, its how you finish.
you still think it is getting better with this team? when will people wake up, the wilpons need to go, boycott till they sell. when u need a ponzi scheme to run a business it is time to move on.
