Inexpensive signing, low expectations but he quickly became something to look forward to every 5th day in what was another disappointing season.

He was awarded with a nice contract. Now expectations are higher, partly because we need the SP to step it up with Johan’s loss and partly because every is watching to see if he can repeat the 2010 year he had.

If he does, to me that will be an even bigger feel good story. Finally someone who lives up to expectations after a long list of guys who haven’t over the past several years.

You go, RA. We’re all behind you.

With the win the Mets begin the 2011 season with something it took the ’10 version until AFTER the All Star break to accomplish: a road series win vs a National League opponent.
