Thanks for the updates on the minor league affiliates.
NIce update! Thank you!
Appreciate this, thanks
Ah Matt Harvey domintated..5 scoreless innings , 9 k’s for the win at St Lucie ..Citi field in Sept??
No he’ll be buried in the bullpen tomorrow.. Oh wait…
Met fans should hope that Harvey gets a full year in A+ followed by a full year in AA in which to develop stuff that can consistently get Major League hitters out. Then see where he is. We need Harvey to come through for us in a big way and the only way to do that is not to rush him, don’t bring him up here when he’s ready to pitch to a 5.50 ERA like we did with Pelfrey, a 4.60 ERA like Mejia, Niese a 7.00 ERA, forget about Kunz and Humber. Getting lit up your first year can have lasting implications and isn’t going to help you win any more games than a Nelson Figueroa would. Keep him working on his pitches and pitching theory and bring him up when he’s ready to apply them in the Majors, not before.
The difference between Harvey, Mejia and Pelf is big though. Pelf and Mejia had poor secondary pitches. Mejia hasnt had the time to refine them due to being rushed and only being allowed to throw fastballs in the majors. Pelf had some major heat and a nasty sinker that has all dissappeared. When did Niese post a 7 ERA? Maybe in his last 6-7 starts when he was pitching career high innings. LOL Ruff Ryder Kunz has NEVER been good, not even in college. Humber was burned out by the Mets, bad.
Now I am in no way shape of form putting you down, just my thoughts on your comment, but if Harvey is dominating each level hes at this year, I dont see him sitting in the minors all of next year. Hes probably going to get a shot at the rotation in ST, and if he doesnt make it, dont be surprised if he gets called up in Sept.
