Someone pointed out how Ike’s homeruns mean something and Wrights don’t – tell me how that makes any sense? One was AWESOME game changing yes – the other came when the were up 8 runs. That is what I’m talking about.

Ike’s the man – no doubt, but why is it (generic question) we can’t compliment one player on the team we all supposedly follow at the expense of slamming another?

Don’t like the parameters used? Looks like you want things both ways…

Oh and while the rest of the team was Sucking Ike wasn’t!

Did you forget one came when the game was already put away? Yeah, much more important. Then he went back to back with Bay, then the game went back and forth with leads and Murphy drove in the final go ahead in that game.

So tell me, other then the overturned homerun, how were Ike’s homeruns more important?

Psst – they lost because the ENTIRE team stunk it up.

A man has got to know his limitations.
Instead of trying to hit every ball out of the park it might be better if he just tried to hit every ball well and let the HRs take care of themselves.

If you over swing in order to hit HRs the likely outcome is going to be a strikeout because you give up bat control in favor of power.
It is only when you have both under control and balanced does the average AND the power increase.

Ike hit three home runs this week

Ike is the player of the month on a team that went a week without winning a game?

The night Wright hit the first home run after going 0-20 hit a double and drove in two more at his next at bat late in the game.

I swear that people find everything possible to hate on Wright. Its becoming Pomeseque like with his unrealistic hatred of Beltran.

Wright broke out from his slump this week so he does deserve accolades but hitting HRs is not usually a sign of breaking out of a slump it usually means the reason he is slumping is because he is trying to hit HRs which his K total would back up.

Lets hope he doesn’t get HR happy and continues to hit for average.

This is a hobby, this is not life, and people don’t know the difference, calling people names, telling them to shut up, getting personal etc…. it’s a sickening actually.

Why are people incapable of having a differing opinion and voicing it without getting it across in such a nasty way?

It’s not a real award, right, but they still have opinions and they have the right to offer them. I like to see the criticism on the choices. It’s less fun when everybody agrees.

On the topic of choosing Wright this week…the 100 points higher is misleading, Ike had two more hits. I chose David because I felt this week was important for him in terms of getting on track for the rest of the season – in my opinion, Davis has looked stronger over the season overall and this week, impressive for the both of them, had some importance for Wright outside what the stats show.

What I’m saying is, in my opinion, if Wright had shown more consistency this season, I’d probably have chosen Davis this week because they’d be no other factor adding into it.
