As I said before Satish, Hitting HRs is not usually a sign of breaking a slump it is usually a sign that he is over swinging and upper cutting too much which is what causes the slump 99% of the time!

A guy who is breaking out of a slump usually hits line drives and or balls up the middle. It shows his timing is good and that he is hitting all of the ball.

HRs are usually the product of an Uppercut which is always going to be vulnerable to the low outside pitch as the uppercut tends to make you swing over it.

Look at David's Ks and you see that is precisely what is happening.

He did hit some hard balls yesterday so he could be on the verge but those HRs are not the sign of it.

He got some hangers that were up and out enough in the zone to let the uppercut do it's work.

UP and out is usually the product of a mistake trying to throw out and down by the pitcher. And everyone should hit HRs on those. Not just guys who are hitting well.

Great win!

Boy, things turn ugly quickly for Young when he keeps the ball up too much.

He was great in first three, but then he lost it. Strange that such a large man gets so litttle velocity. That was clearly his worst game, and you could see how angry he was with himself.

No slight to the Nats; they have hitters.

Hats off to our bullpen. What was clearly the weakest link a couple of weeks back looks now as if it is really coming together.

Let's Go Mets!

Right an o'fer after a very good weekend, that means he's not out of his slump. Every other MLB would have had an off night, but this fan base take every opportunity to slam the most consistent player we've had the last 6 years.

The things is that now David knows that it doesn't just fall on him if he doesn't get the runner in. Great start by Young, boy Ramos is a monster, he looks like he is going to be a power hitting catcher; he has hit Mets so far this year real well.

Hey at least there was no Dibble on the MLB broadcast, he and Carpenter used to make me crazy, the new guy; Santangelo I think is a little more level headed, not a homer.

David should of had two rbi there but all you can do is hit the ball hard, as he did, and then your hits will fall in.

Last year this game would of ended with Bernadino taking K Rod or Izzy deep, as he did last year, but no to be denied the resurgent Mets are playing better.

Also, I take back Wright winning the POTW. I was hoping he was breaking out of a slump.
Uh...maybe not.
