That’s improvement, right? Maybe by June he’ll feel up to pitching 6 innings a start. Hey, you gotta take hope where you can get it with this club. I don’t think it’d be as upsetting if this were a really young team with little ML experience. But this is a team led by veterans, such as Wright, Reyes, Beltran, Pelfrey, Dickey, Rodriguez, etc., etc. They shouldn’t play this badly. But, then again, they shouldn’t have last year either. Injuries were a valid excuse in ’09. They had some injuries in ’10 but not enough to continue using it as an excuse. What’s the problem in ’11? 4 and 11, 7 games under .500, and a 1-6 record at home. This is getting old, real quick. Goes to show that there’s more fundamentally wrong with this team than just Oliver Perez and Luis Castillo.

Murphy made a bonehead mistake trying to steal 3rd. Collins said it best.
“There’s a fine line between aggressive and dumb. He tried to create something that just wasn’t’ there”

No one is hitting right now. the Mets had 2 hits in the 2nd game and both were retired on caught stealing.

Trying to find a positive in getting swept in back to back double headers for myself and all I can come up with is this.

Over the last 4 games the pen has pitched good.
