Back to back strong games at home is a good sign, even if the opponents were not from Philadelphia or Atlanta. Their road record is a respectable 4-5 but their home record prior to their 9-1 win over Houston was a completely unacceptable 1-8. 3-8 at home isn't very much better, but they got to start somewhere and they need to do it early to salvage hope for the rest of the season.

Ironically their troubles this year are completely opposite of 2010 where they were one of the NL's top home teams but among the very worst on the road. It took them until well into the 2nd half of 2010 to record their 1st road series win vs an NL opponent, while they accomplished that in the very 1st road trip of 2011. However, 11 games in at Citi Field and they're still looking for a home series win against anyone. Let's hope they take the next two from the D'Backs to secure that 1st series win at home!

Way to go Big Mike! Finally an outing worthy to be called an "Ace"-like performance from the defacto #1 starter. It might not last, but I'm sure the guys in the bullpen especially appreciate Pelfrey going 7 tonight. Hopefully this is the start of something good for our Mets.
