Why didnt Dan Warthen take an oath to reduce walks when he first got the job as pitching coach? So two years that he's see Mets pitchers dish out more walks than any other team in the majors and now he decides to take an oath or make a promise? Is there any pitcher on the Mets we can credit Warthen for? Admittedly he did nothing to help Dickey who was promoted from the minors after a huge season and just continued pitching the same way when he got to the Mets. You can say the same thing about Niese. He could have helped Oliver Perez but didnt. Pelfrey was had a solid first month and a half and then he was just meh. What has Warthen done exactly?
