A lot of people jumped on him because of an error he made in Saturday’s game. Sunday on Mets Extra, Terry Collins summed it up nicely; Murphy wasn’t the first, the last or only player to make an error on Saturday, and he’s sure more errors will be made on Sunday. I think sometimes Murphy gets a lot of crap, but he’s getting the job done.

He’ll make some more mistakes I’m sure, but had anyone else noticed his range is so much better than Luis Castillo? Anybody see the play on Friday and Sunday when he stretch all the way to his right and kept the ball from going through the hole? That was something I hadnt seen in a while at second. Murphy is going to be a good one after a few more months of improving and refining his skills on defense.
