As for the way I look at Salary, what you make is based more on what you have done not so much what you will do.

You can buy the most expensive pencil in the world but it probably won’t write any better than the cheapo.

you pay because you hope that what he did is still achievable and if not at least LESS is usually still better than someone who has never done as much.

I just wish we would ALL (and that includes me) spend as much time being FANS as we do being critics.

Sorry but Omar decided to pay him 6 Mil and there are a 1000 players making league minimum (which is 10 times the average salary of a US citizen) who are much worse!

As for Sandy giving them enough rope well thats true about Perez but you can hardly say that about Castillo.

He was as good as anyone we had competing for the 2B spot. The decision to cut him had nothing to do with money because it didn’t save any. In fact you can say it cost us money to pay his replacement.

But the truth is it wasn’t really Sandy’s decision. Castillo asked to be cut so he could find another job. And while I don’t think he got a fair shake in ST as he was being held to a much higher standard than the guys who were kept it worked out for him because lets face facts even emergency backups get WS rings at the end of the year and he has a shot at that!

Cause in the end you can aquire a team full of Hall of Famers to fill every position but if everyone who goes to the game sits quietly or boos they will lose just as many games as we have the last three years!
