Metsie,

It's a fair point. You're not wrong, but I would say the problem isn't Citi Field. The problem is their inability to win on the road. They have been absolutely dreadful on the road. Sure, there's going to be a difference between any home team in a pitchers park and how they play on the road.

The problem with the Mets is just how drastic its been. You have to be able to balance winning on the road and winning at home.

If the Mets win at home because its a pitchers park and their pitchers do well, then their hitters should be able to pick up the slack on the road. The fact however is, that the Mets offense is only slightly more productive on the road than at Citi Field.

Well i believe all of our issues last year were basically hitting.
And if that hitting was there then the Home record would be championship and the road record would not be bad enough to screw up all the wins at home.

We were so worried about Pitching last year and that was the one thing that turned out ok.
Unfortunatly the MLB site is all screwed up as there is no 2010 season listed (Dumb a$$es! LOL)

I'll have to check Baseball referenece I guess.

Nice job Mike. I'm glad you enjoyed the call, and your question hit the mark, as did this post. The Mets need to play better on the road, end of story. Bay and Wright for all the talk that Citi kills thier numbers, it's not true. They play their best at Citi and with more power too.

Jessup did you look at a comparison of the Pitchers home and away?

I haven't really yet (Will later tonite) but I am guessing that the Pitching is the most affected by the stadium dimensions not the batters.

They win because our Pitchers stay out of those HR give aways and big innings where away they can't stop them and give up the HR.

But I'm just speculating here.

Welcome back, Jessep. I agree, the dimensions favor the Mets, if anything. I like Citi Field. It takes me back to the day where you had to stand on second base in order to hit one over the wall on a fly.
