Truth is he works for ESPN he should have expanded a little more but didn’t.

Some of the best talk show interviews are the ones where there is a big windup of a question from an interviewer and the interviewee says YEP! and nothing else!

I’m the first to admit that I’m not good at these things. lol It takes me forever to get my questions out. Luckily, we have a lot more capable people on MMO who usually handle interviews and such, and who do a far better job than me.

not a big fan of harris, but that was only a MiL signing. I think Hairston could end up playing a big role this year though. And Harris was signed first, so he just might be redundant now.

I also think that trotting out reyes’ injuries (as a reason to not sign him) is a big red herring. In the last 6 years, he had 2 injuries (not counting the thyroid, since that was an illness). A hammy tendon issue in 2009 (horribly misdiagnosed, but finally fixed with no ongoing concerns), and a oblique tweak last year (same as Pagan, and a bunch of other guys). Again, nothing chronic or worrisome ongoing.

It’s not like he has had 3 knee operations and has not cartilage left, or has had hip surgery (or some other major problems that qualify him as damaged goods).

I dont mind the Harris signing at all, and I thought he should have been the one who got the major league deal NOT Scott Hairston. A fourth outfielder should be able to come in and add some defense late in a game and Harris definitely does that. He’s also a good hitter off the bench despite his poor 2010 season. Hairston adds nothing to this team.

I thought this was a cool piece and it’s nice to know they actually have a Mets fan covvering the Mets at ESPN. I always wondered how many of our beat writers actually are Mets fans, and now I can add Mark Simon to a very short list that only includes Steve Popper.

The best question to me was the one about signing Hairston and Harris. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought those moves were bad. I hope this also doesnt preclude Daniel Murphy from making the team either.

Good Job Joe but allow me to give you a little advice on interviewing (I have trained many a field reporter in my day! LOL)

The question you ask someone should never be longer than the answer!! LOL

Don’t take that too hard because you know Costas is the worst offender in doing that! So it’s not like your not in good company!
