Communication was lacking between players and management last year and you know why?

Too many distractions about how long the manager was going to be here and all the other controversies that were surrounding that!

You would think that. Maybe clubs figure winter ball or something is better for learning new stuff. Bubble players like Parnell should use ST to show off and refine what they’ve already got in their minds.

that didn’t seem to work out so well when they tried it last year. based on his stuff, etc. right now, it seems like he is destined to be a back of the pen guy.

but you are right, a SP is worth way more than a RP.

they have other guys to try before getting desperate enough to go to Parnell again I think.

If Capuano and/or Young break down how about Parnell as a starter? A 200 inning starter is more valuable than a 70 inninng setup guy.

seems odd to me, since it seems that ST would be the time to actually work on improving your pitches, not waiting until the season starts.
