Baseball 2011: Y’all Ready For This?

The commercials weren’t all that great, Christina Aguilera screwed up the National Anthem, and the Black Eyed Peas pretty much sucked, but at least the game was entertaining. Congratulations to the Green Bay Packers, this season’s Super Bowl Champions.

Now we can get on to bigger and better things…

That movie and those kids have always made me laugh… Play Ball!

  • What bigger & better things are you referring to? It can’t be the Mets’ 2011 season. Unless you count lawsuit settlements, rumors of who will be the next 25% owner of the team, Jose Reyes getting traded, and DJ Carrasco coming in to blow rare Mets leads as bigger and better I just don’t see what you’re getting at HoJo. I am as much a Mets fan as anyone, but the mess the Wilpon’s have made of this team through their own greed and/or stupidity, plus the two faced new GM (whom I admit I at first ardently supported) who is already bungling the Jose Reyes situation have combined to make me LESS than enthusiastic about the upcoming season. Pardon me, but watching the Phillies, Braves, Marlins, and possibly even the Nats run over the Mets isn’t a particularly enticing thought for me at the moment. Given the way the Mets are run, I find it hard to see the silver lining in this black cloud called the 2011 Baseball season.

    • 86 it would seem u have a preference for the negative supposition/speculation than the positive. Exactly what is your basis for defaming Alderson as 2-faced? Choosing to let Reyes’ prove himself, yet again is not untoward for a new GM.

Everyone needs to understand thaty while Alderson,Riccardi & DiPodesta are upgrades in the frontoffice, there is absolutely no evidence that any were Met fans at anytime or that any of them had paid as close attention to this team the past 5 years than any one on the board!
Personally, I experct anywhere between 81-85 Wins this Season for a finish anywhere from second to fourth place in the division. While Santana’s absence is significant, I propose that once he returns the starting rotation will certainly be better than any we’ve seen in a number of years. the bullpen as with many teams, is going to be a crapshoot & as with any gamble, we’ll win some & lose some; but it’s certainly as far from being a disaster as it is from being a CERTAIN SLAMDUNK SUCCESS.!
