You say you're movin on up. You've got a long way to go. You guys are #2 in a city of one team.

Your TV broadcaster, Bob Carpenter, is the worst in the league. He's a homer who should be doing minor league baseball. On some nights, he and his buddies in the broadcast booth are probably the only group of fans to watch the game.

Befitting its small town mentality, Washington draws more pigeons than fans. Its 1.8 million home attendance is down near the bottom of the league in 23rd place. Most of those are probably out-of-towners or business types on an expense account who are looking at the new ballpark.
Washington locals don't go to the games.

So keep movin on up. When you get there, let us know.

That's great - you keep proving what little you know. Stop bringing up the Marine crap. Alderson doesn't expliot it, neither should you.

Well if you want him gone, then he may was well take his friend Jose, since he's hurt more often then none and has done nothing to win either. Be consistent, if you want to clean house, clean house, but stop picking on the only bright spot of the team.

Does your girlfriend like him better then you or something?

If everything went our way, we stayed healthy, and players played to their potential, then we could compete for a wild card spot .... maybe.

"Only fan in the world that would want a guy that hits .300 every year, 100 RBI’s and 25 – 30 plus homeruns every year off his team"

Who cares?
It didn't help the Mets win.
He always pisses on his pants in tight situations.
Sandy is a Marine who believes in winning, not like idiots like you who believe in stats and never won anything in life.
Winning takes more that stats.
Believe me . Wright knows his days as the Mets are numbered.
You have never achieved anything life and never will, trust me.
How’s that?

Here is a what if for you to ponder...

WHAT IF:

The team was capable of being competitive if there was a good crowd who showed interest and spurred them onto greater heights by going to the game and supported them?

What if Home field advantage was actually an advantage?

What if the thing that stopped them from being all they could be was the lack of interest because people already determined what the outcome was going to be before a game was even played?

What if we all bought season tickets and they saw they would make enough money to cover a 180 Million dollar payroll?

What if our writing off a season by the fans before it even started is adopted by the players and we WILL the season to be lost because we don't believe we can get it done?

People tend to do what is expected of them.

What if WE (fans) are the reason they underperform and don't spend more money?

All because we look at some numbers or have a bad outlook on future events!

You know if you go up to the plate thinking your going to make an out you will probably make that prediction come true.

If you go into something thinking you can succeed you will do what it takes to make sure that happens as well!

Just saying...
What if covers a lot of things in an unpredictable world including going against the predictions or making expectations come true despite the fact it didn't have to be that way!

Why don't we just let them play, support them as best as we can and let the Whit If's fall where they may?

On Santanna, he will never ever be the same. He may have the same pitches but, never the same velocity. The shoulder is not like the elbow. There have even been cases where pitchers come back from Tommy John surgery throwing a little harder than before. Shoulders are the opposite, it is a different joint and it reacts differently to surgery..I know, I had similar surgery performed by Dr David Altchek, the Mets orthopedic surgeon, in 1994. He also performed Doc Gooden's surgery..

It takes a while to come back from completely healthy (theres a difference between healthy and being your old self) and I know I never threw as hard again. Though I will say he does great work, and I still threw above average but, still not as hard and was not able to maintain top velocity as long. If Johan, does the hard work which, we know he will cause lets face it the guy is a competitor, he should be ok, lets hope he adjusts.

One last thing on Altchek, he is a very competent DR, I still pitch from time to time in leagues and I have never had one problem with my arm ever again and the damage was bad. Every now and then i can still reach back for one and its there but, Heck, I'm 40 and pudgy now lol. Even 16 years after surgery I only get normal after game soreness. (enough about my dumb ass)

Pedro, never fully regained his velocity and with Santana, he needs a certain amount of speed difference between his change up and fastball. Hence why last year at times he had issues, because the difference in velocity was not good enough. He is going to have to learn to pitch with less. (Bob Ojeda noticed it too)

I think Pedro's top velocity was 92mph after surgery and with the phillies but, it was not consistent, though Santana is a little larger than Pedro is. I think his velocity will probably be between 87 and 91, meaning his change up now has to be between 77 and 81..Though it would be more effective between 74 and 79 with good movement.

He also performed Doc Gooden’s surgery..

Every now and then i can still reach back for one and its there but, Heck, I’m 40 and pudgy now lol.
